On November 30, 2024, the University of Saint Joseph Mbarara (USJM) marked a momentous occasion as it held its 4th Graduation Ceremony at the university grounds. The day was not only a celebration of academic achievement but also a testament to community support and institutional growth, as it coincided with the USJM Pillars General Assembly.
The event began with a Holy Mass celebrated by the Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese, His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha, who is also the Chancellor of USJM. In his dual role as spiritual leader and Chancellor, His Grace presided over the conferring of degrees and diplomas, inspiring graduates to embrace their new roles as agents of change in society.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Deus Karemire, the Vice-Chancellor, delivered an inspiring opening speech, highlighting the university’s key milestones. He commended the completion of lecture block and unveiled the University plan for constructing a state-of-the-art science block to facilitate science programs. He also announced the future plans of development of ICT and Innovation Lab aimed at fostering creativity and innovation among students.
The ceremony also honored the USJM Pillars, a group of committed individuals who contribute both financial and non-financial resources to support the university’s operations. The chairperson of the group, Prof. Richard Akisimire, extended a warm welcome to the attendees and emphasized the pivotal role of collective support in achieving the university’s mission.
The day was filled with joy, inspiration, and a sense of accomplishment as graduates took the next step in their academic and professional journeys. The event underscored USJM’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering community-driven progress.
