EYIT’s Tushabe Ronard wins prestigious Plug and Play Tech Center Startup Camp Award at McCloskey new venture competition

Mr. Tushabe Ronard, the Director of Empower Youth in Technology (EYIT) was one of the winners of plug and play tech center startup camp award at the prestigious McCloskey New Venture competition in the USA.

This annual competition, hosted by IDEA CENTER at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana State, USA, provides a platform for innovators to pitch their innovative ideas to a panel of judges. It is open to students, staff, and alumni of the University of Notre Dame, as well as community members residing in South Bend, making it an inclusive platform for innovation and creativity.

The competition process started in October 2022, attracting more than 150 participants who submitted their unique and innovative ideas. The competition not only offers an opportunity to win prizes but also an opportunity to gain valuable feedback and mentorship from industry experts, enabling participants to fine-tune their ideas and turn them into successful ventures.

During semi-final pitching

After several rounds of intense scrutiny, evaluation, and assessment, Tushabe Ronard with his idea, AccountantApp was among the 30 semi-finalists invited for pitching to judges and eventually emerged the winner of the prestigious Plug and Play Tech Center Startup Camp award that comes with a cash prize as well as an invaluable opportunity to join the Plug and Play mentorship program.

The Plug and Play mentorship program is an exclusive and highly sought-after opportunity that provides startups with access to a range of resources and support, including mentorship from seasoned professionals, networking opportunities, and exposure to investors in the Silicon Valley Technology Ecosystem.
