Hotel Triangle Mbarara, Uganda – On a night filled with celebrations, Lions from District 411B (Uganda) gathered at the Hotel Triangle Mbarara for a Cabinet Banquet. The event, which commenced with the Lions Club Anthem, brought together members and dignitaries to honor achievements and foster the spirit of Lionism among the members and stakeholders.
The agenda for the night was rich, starting with an invocation led by the First Vice District Governor Ln. Benon Katate, setting the tone for an enjoyable and exciting evening dedicated to service to humanity. The First Vice District Governor, further led the assembly in prayer, invoking blessings for an enjoyable and fruitful evening.
Guests were welcomed and introduced, with a special emphasis on the need to invite more members to achieve the ambitious mission of reaching 1.5 million Lions. Some of the members who attended the cabinet’s banquet include the District officers, Past District Governors, Club Presidents, Zone Chairpersons, Melvin Jones Fellows (MJF), Leos, the New Voices and other invited guests.
In his welcoming address, the District Governor-Ln. Dr. Stanley Bubikire stressed the importance of celebration after achieving milestones. He highlighted the success of the day’s training and knowledge-sharing sessions, encouraging Lions to take pride in their achievements.
The Guest of Honor, Ln. Wilson Tumwiine (the Past District Governor) expressed gratitude for the invitation and congratulated all Lions for their achievements at the District level. He emphasized the significance of confidence, faithfulness, and the cultivation of character in Lions Club members, stating that they are training individuals to become faithful contributors to their communities.
After expressing appreciation for Tumwiine’s insightful message, the District Governor, Ln. Dr. Stanley Bubikire proceeded to induct a new member into Lionism. Awards and recognitions were also given out to some District officers, with Ln Ronard Tushabe, the Director of Empower Youth In Technology (EYIT), being acknowledged for his outstanding contributions.
The Kampala Central Lions Club received recognition as the first runner-up for audited books of account, while the Lions Club of Bushenyi led in the payment of both district and international dues. Two clubs, the Lions Club of Jinja and the Lions Club of Rukungiri, shared the second position for the fastest growth in membership, with the Lions Club of Ntungamo securing the highest membership.
The District Governor emphasized the importance of unity in diversity, a theme that resonated throughout the night. As the evening continued, attendees enjoyed a sumptuous dinner, with cake served for dessert.
The agenda also included recognition for Melvin Jones Fellows (MJF) and presentations for Lions Clubs International Foundation’s (LCIF) initiatives, further underlining the commitment of Lions in District 411B to service, growth, and community impact.
