Who is behind Western Uganda Music Awards (WUMA)?

While everyone is curious and skeptical about these awards, very few know the brains behind them!

Here is the story!

The Western Uganda Music Awards (WUMA) have been the talk in the entertainment circles in the Western Region of Uganda and trending on social media. This has left many with questions about who is behind the awards.
Western Uganda Music Awards (WUMA) are being organized by Cardinal Charity Foundation , an organization sponsoring the most disadvantaged children in Fort Portal with school fees. The organization provides food and other basic needs to disadvantaged families in Fort Portal.

The Western Uganda Music Awards were initiated with the goal of giving back to society and promoting the art and entertainment industry in western Uganda. The organization also seeks to use the awards to expand its charity operations foundation in other parts of the region hence reaching out to more disadvantaged children and families.

WUMA believes that appreciating & recognizing artists is a powerful motivator to boost competition, performance, productivity & morale in the art and entertainment Industry of Western Uganda. According to the organization, the awards will be held annually in different districts of western Uganda.

The awards process commenced on the 2nd of December 2022 with nominations. The voting system was opened in Fort Portal on the 9th of January 2023, Mbarara on the 16th of January 2023, and Kasese on the 16th of January 2023 and has since registered over 2,000 responses in Mbarara, with 1,000 in Fort Portal, and 500 in Kasese.

Overall Artist will receive an accolade & 300,000=
Male Artist will an accolade & 200,000=
Female Artist will an accolade & 200,000=
All other categories will receive an accolade with 50,000=
