The Empower Youth in Technology (EYIT) and IDEA Center are excited to announce the Coding 4 Business program. This program provides an opportunity for software engineers from Mbarara, Uganda to be mentored by U.S. professionals in data science, software design and analysis, and information technology project management.
The aim of this program is to increase employment opportunities for at least 10 software engineers, connecting them to U.S. technology startups and introducing them to technology tools and programming languages used in the U.S technology ecosystem.
Tushabe Ronard, the Director of Empower Youth in Technology and Alumni of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, announced that the program is scheduled to launch on March 24th, 2023, with 10 software engineers in the initial cohort as a pilot. The program will offer a combination of both online and physical instruction.
This program is funded under Reciprocal Exchange Program by the US Department of State, Mandela Washington Fellowship implemented by the International Research and Exchanges (IREX). This is a great opportunity for developers in Mbarara to gain new skills and make valuable connections in the U.S. technology space.
